To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

Responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance, repair, and renovation services (plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical, and general utility) that meet or exceed our customers' expectations across the Moog East Aurora Campus. Ensures the functionality and safety of facilities by conducting routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and responding to repairs as needed; often requiring knowledge in multiple skilled trades including, but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, and building infrastructure.

Under general supervision, the Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is a skilled generalist, performing at a journey-level in one trade with strong skills in other trades. This position independently performs a variety of skilled preventive and general maintenance, repair, construction, and renovation work on facilities and systems. With general supervision, this position also performs scheduled preventive maintenance on installed equipment including scheduled inspections, documentation of results, and repair or replacement of broken parts.

To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • At least 3 years or relevant experience in multiple skilled trades.
  • Demonstrated journey-level skills in one trade are and strong skills in other applicable trade
  • Thorough knowledge of methods, materials, equipment and tools used in one skilled trade area as well as the generally accepted trade practices associated with that trade.
  • Working knowledge of methods, materials, equipment and tools in related trade areas pertaining to facilities, systems, construction and renovation.
  • Ability to use considerable judgement and discretion in performing duties.
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, plans, drawings, and specifications, and make rough sketches.

As a Building and Grounds Mechanic, you will:

  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
    Maintain records, retrieve data related to work performed using manual and/or computerized record-keeping systems, and/or maintenance management systems.
  • Perform a wide range of facilities renovation, maintenance, and repair work. Including carpentry, painting,
    and other construction tasks, such as:
  • Complete alterations/additions to existing buildings, structures, walls, roofs, floors and doorways.
  • Install grid work and ceiling tiles for suspended ceilings.
  • Remove tile floors, repair sub floors, layout and install new tile, repair and install carpeting.
  • Repair and replace ventilation ducts.
  • Paint walls and partitions.
  • Fabricate items from wood or metal such as racks, stands, cabinets and platforms.
  • Replace glass in windows partitions. and doors. Repair office furniture
    Repair, replace, and/or install plumbing and plumbing fixtures such as urinals, closets, sinks, drinking
    fountains and plant sanitary systems. Assist in cleanup of oil spills.
  • Diagnosing and fixing mechanical malfunctions on various building systems, including leaks and plumbing problems.
  • Repair doors, locks, and closing hardware.
  • Respond to routine maintenance and service requests.
  • Regularly use hand and power tools and equipment associated with trade work.
  • Work from prints, sketches, and work orders.
  • Participate in the maintenance and operation of general shop equipment including cleaning, maintaining and servicing of tools and equipment used in the performance of duties.
  • Responding to urgent maintenance calls outside of regular working hours to address issues like flooding, power outages, and system failures.
  • Consult, coordinate and work with other trades workers and provide instruction and lead work direction to others.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
    Attend training and maintain skill currency as appropriate to safely and effectively complete assignments.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $25.00-$32.69 Hourly

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
