System Administrator

This position requires an active Secret clearance.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Systems Administrator to join our team, supporting our government customer's mission. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth operations and collaboration across teams, contributing to the success of DevSecOps processes and systems.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Systems Administrator: $115,000 to $130,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Systems Administrator Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage and maintain Linux systems and middleware to support DevSecOps tools.
  • Troubleshoot Tier 3 support desk issues and resolve technical challenges.
  • Oversee software and infrastructure management, installations, and configurations.
  • Support database and web server administration.
  • Evaluate and implement technologies to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop scalable and reusable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, including vulnerability management.
  • Maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and solutions.
  • Travel up to twice annually as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Systems Administrator Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or a related field (or equivalent certification).
  • Certifications: Security+ certification required (or must obtain within 6 months).
  • Strong Linux administration and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Shell).
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Apache Tomcat, Keycloak, and GitLab.
  • Proficiency with configuration management tools like Ansible/AAP.
  • Logging configuration and analysis experience (Splunk preferred).
  • Familiarity with RHEL, JBoss, OpenShift, Oracle DB, and Atlassian tools preferred.
  • DoD experience and knowledge of DevSecOps processes/tools preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
