Summary

This position plays a critical role in leading the seasonal set up and take down of tents and furnishings at all Under Canvas locations. This is a seasonal position (with full-time conversion potential) and 100% travel based. This position reports directly to the Camp Set Up Foreman.

The Camp Set Up Supervisor will assist in leading a team consisting of approximately five to twelve Camp Set Up Technicians and travel to Under Canvas resort locations and perform the physical work of building or dismantling the tents, interior walls, furnishings, and associated assets on a seasonal basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing leadership to a team of Camp Set Up Technicians, managing and monitoring their attendance and work performance
  • Manage and advise the use of machinery and equipment; ensuring that all crew members are properly trained and certified
  • Assist in creating crew operating procedures in accordance with Department Set-Up SOPs and policies
  • Maintain 100% accountability of all Crew property through the management of inventory/property documentation; to include hand receipt processes as ownership changes over
  • Strive to develop new methods and materials which will increase the operational efficiency, decrease the cost, and improve the quality of the camp set-up and take-down process
  • Respectfully live with coworkers in employee housing and adhere to all company and external rental agencies' rules and policies during residency
  • Think critically to respond and react quickly to ever changing situations
  • Able to problem solve to resolve issues safely and efficiently
  • Deliver clear expectations to teams in all operational areas
  • Professional in all internal and external communications
  • Prioritize tasks effectively
  • Participate in Set Up Crew-specific meetings

  • Able to perform the tasks and responsibilities of the Camp Set Up Forman in their absence, at the direction of the Set Up Field Manager
  • Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience of people management
  • Strong knowledge of construction operations and equipment
  • Goal-oriented, results-driven, strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Communicate in a clear and professional way
  • Interact with a friendly, enthusiastic, positive attitude
  • Demonstrate sound judgement, follow direction, and take decisive appropriate action
  • Learn, embrace, and train team on company policies, practices, and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills to execute and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines on assigned projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Any industry related certification will be considered an advantage
Additional Information
  • This position is fully outdoors - ability to work in extreme weather conditions including but not limited toheat, cold, rain, snow, humidity, and wind.
  • This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment, when applicable.
  • This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 45lbs independently.
  • Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, standing, bending, twisting, lifting, and maneuvering in an outdoor environment on uneven surfaces.
  • This position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background check and/or motor vehicle records check, if requested by Under Canvas.
  • This position may require a valid certificate of DOT physical examination and satisfactory completion of a road test performed by a competent person, if requested by Under Canvas.
