Job Summary |

This role involves collecting, recording, maintaining, and reporting student data, while also providing institutional insights to inform enrollment related strategies, retention efforts, and student success initiatives. The Registrar will drive the adoption and implementation of business processes and technologies to enhance both service quality and operational efficiency. |
Job Description |
Program Management: Develop and oversee a comprehensive program to fulfill the office's mission, ensuring effective function and support for the university. Staff Leadership: Manage training and performance of professional and support staff within the Registrar's Office. Budget Oversight: Administer the unit's budget, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately and within financial guidelines. Policy Development: Create, implement, and interpret policies related to the Registrar's Office and broader university operations. Professional Expertise: Stay current with developments in the field of higher education administration and provide expert guidance on best practices. Data Reporting: Generate management reports, conduct data analysis, and provide critical insights for administrative decision-making. Collaboration: Engage with advisory committees, participate in university-wide committees, and consult with other departments or officials as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Registrar reports to the Vice President of Enrollment Management and collaborates with Admissions, Financial Aid, Academic Affairs, and Student Services to implement school-wide policies and cross-departmental initiatives. The Registrar is expected to:
- Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
- Oversee key processes including course management, academic progress tracking, graduation audits, course rostering, room assignments, student record management, curriculum management, catalog production, course evaluations, and the transition to a new student information system.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate systems to track data trends and make data-driven recommendations to improve office services and university operations.
- Ensure the usability of all systems managed by the Registrar's Office through training programs on topics such as student registration, enrollment, retention, and graduation.
- Mentor and manage a team of direct reports to ensure optimal performance and development.

Minimum Qualifications |
- A bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in a registrar's office or related student records office within higher education.
- Prior experience as a Registrar, Associate Registrar, or Assistant Registrar is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Doctoral or terminal degree.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation agency rules and regulations as they relate to a Registrar's Office.
- Experience working at an institution with non-traditional programs, multiple campuses, and/or online delivery is also preferred.
- Experience navigating a student information system, with familiarity in platforms such as Ellucian, Banner, CAPP/Degree Works, Acalog, Curiculog, Ad Astra, and Argos.
- Demonstrated experience managing staff.

- Strong understanding of higher education practices related to registrar functions, including FERPA and other relevant federal and state policies.
- Direct experience with electronic student record management systems.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Access.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, including administrators, faculty, students, and staff.
- Ability to engage in strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of office operations.
