The PACCAR Summer Internship Program provides an opportunity to learn about PACCAR through a work assignment in the Compliance team. Each intern will be integrated into division and department meetings, activities and events to ensure an understanding of PACCAR and our truck brands Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF. The Paccar Technical Center is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the development and validation of emerging technologies such as vehicle electrification and autonomous driving systems. The Paccar Technical Center is located in scenic Mt. Vernon, Washington north of Seattle and south of Vancouver, British Columbia.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

The PACCAR OBD Compliance team is looking for a driven intern to collect internal and regulatory requirements to analyze emissions collected from engine dynamometer. Internships will include unique opportunities to:

  • Create tooling to support analysis which allows data cleaning, signal arbitration and error handling for multiple data sources
  • Create Emissionsprocessing dashboard using Matlab/Python
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across PACCAR divisions
  • Ensure post processed emissions adhere to CFR guidelines
Qualifications
  • Fundamental knowledge of mechanics of materials and fluid dynamics
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills required
  • Technical writing experience preferred
Education

Junior or higher standing toward an engineering degree
