Quality Engineer

Position Summary

This position works under the guidance of the Quality Manager and is responsible for supporting improvements in product quality and first pass yield. The Quality Engineer helps develop corrective actions, continuous improvement projects, and participates or leads in their completion. Corrective actions and continuous improvement projects to be designed to improve first part yield (FPY) in each department of the production facilities by collecting and analyzing data specific to various steps of the process; and helping complete the appropriate problem-solving methodology to implement those improvements.

Position Requirements:

• Establish Quality policy/programs/processes in support of IATF16949 certification
• Daily use of expertise with hands-on Quality Systems
• Perform quality oversight of all suppliers to ensure deliveries meet quality standards
• Perform hands-on quality analysis of all manufacturing processes (new or existing)
• Provide Training to other employees to ensure top quality products.
• Coordinate, provide input, and participate in quality specification and analysis with existing products and launch of new products
• Identify, analyze, and implement continuous quality improvement in design and manufacturing process efficiency, safety, quality, and cost.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in any Engineering/Technical discipline (ME/IE preferred)
• 5+ years of hands-on Automotive Quality Engineering experience
• Experienced in quality system planning and certification, such as ISO & IATF16949 a plus
