About this Opportunity:

We are seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant to join our corporate office located in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely. This position is responsible for performing period-end close processes, including consolidations, and producing accurate and timely financial reports for quarterly and annual SEC filings, joint venture (JV) reporting, and quarterly supplemental reports to investors. The position also involves contributing to the audit and appraisal processes for Regency's real estate investment partnership program.

What You'll Be Doing:



  • Consolidation and Analysis: Prepare the monthly consolidation package using a single general ledger system, including updating account and company groupings, performing pre-and post-closing analyses, identifying errors or reclassifications, recording consolidation/elimination entries, and reconciling key schedules (e.g., notes payable, stockholders' equity, non-controlling interest, equity pickup).
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Compile financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations, including consolidated income statement analysis and supporting schedules for external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Regulatory Filings: Prepare and file quarterly and annual regulatory reports, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K with disclosures and MD&A, as well as current reports on Form 8-K and other filings as needed.
  • Management Reporting: Develop and reconcile management reports and schedules for external reporting, ensuring accuracy on both GAAP and non-GAAP bases for quarterly supplemental reports.
  • Valuation and Appraisal Preparation: Prepare quarterly and annual appraisals required by partnership agreements, including data gathering, assumption development, and collaboration with third-party consultants.
  • Month-End Accounting: Manage month-end accounting for complex corporate-level transactions, such as derivatives and non-qualified deferred compensation plans.
  • Audit Support: Assist with the annual external audits of the company and its joint ventures, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor inquiries.



Are You Qualified?



  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting
  • CPA eligible preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years accounting experience required
  • SEC reporting or real estate accounting experience preferred
  • Public accounting experience in the audit practice is a plus
  • XBRL experience is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and related financial concepts
  • Strong business writing skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills including knowledge of financial models and formulas
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and comprehend legal documents
  • Experience with JD Edwards, reporting tools, and Edgar filing tools a plus
