Your day as a Rental Equipment Mechanic (Level 2) Your day will begin with a team briefing, during which you'll prioritize tasks and discuss any ongoing projects. Following that, you will systematically inspect equipment, identify issues, and carry out repairs or adjustments. Expect to engage in hands-on work with diverse machinery, learning new skills and techniques along the way. Your schedule will be Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays to accommodate customer demands, providing a balanced workweek while keeping your skills sharp. Does this sound like you? Your success in repairs and maintenance will hinge on your ability to conduct thorough repairs on rental equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, compactors, and small tools. Proficiency in preventative maintenance tasks like oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication is also necessary. Familiarity with basic hydraulic and electrical component repairs will contribute to your effectiveness in the role. Additionally, a basic understanding of diagnostic software, such as fault code readers, along with general knowledge of mini skid steers, trailers, aerial lifts, and safety procedures compliant with OSHA regulations, will enhance your capability to maintain equipment excellence.
