Job Description
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is looking for a Strategic Planning Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive the modernization of legacy systems, implement secure cloud-based solutions, and enhance interoperability and scalability in support of our CBP customer's mission-critical operations. Responsibilities inherent in the Strategic Planning SME role:
- Develop strategic plans for transitioning legacy systems to secure, cloud-based platforms, emphasizing interoperability, scalability, and data exchange.
- Modernize data infrastructures to support customer needs, enabling real-time data access and integration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct capability analyses to document operational requirements, including process automation, decision support, results management, and reporting functionalities.
- Identify critical cloud requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals for data accessibility, automated reporting, and scalability.
- Perform cost-benefit and risk assessments to recommend secure, scalable, and interoperable solutions that comply with organizational and federal standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including operational, IT, and acquisition teams, to establish strategic roadmaps for system implementation and modernization.
- Oversee cloud migration plans, ensuring alignment with agency-specific and federal cloud modernization initiatives and compliance standards.
- Draft acquisition documents, such as needs assessments, operational requirements, and capability development plans, ensuring traceability to mission objectives and stakeholder priorities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 11-12years of experience in strategic planning, health informatics, or health systems integration.
- Proficiency in capability gap analysis, cost analysis, and acquisition documentation.
- Knowledge of federal IT security policies, including HIPAA, NIST, and AWS compliance standards.
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary/hourly range for this position is $150,000- $175,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
