Seasonal Trust Tax Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)

Rockland Trust is currently seeking a seasonal, part-time Trust Tax Administrative Assistant with a flexible schedule for the upcoming tax season (January through April 15th). The position will involve working closely with the Trust Tax Officer at our Hanover office to assist with filing, copying, organizing tax documents, and supporting various other projects as needed. Strong administrative and computer skills are essential, with experience in Adobe Acrobat DC, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access being critical. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, efficient, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. A basic understanding of various tax documents is preferred. The position requires an average of 24 to 28 hours per week, with additional hours potentially needed from mid-March through April 15th.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Copying, scanning and organizing tax returns and related tax documents into our electronic database
  • Prepare correspondence and letters
  • Putting together mailings for correspondence and tax returns to clients/tax authorities
  • Assist in maintaining databases and spreadsheets to be current and accurate


Required Skills & Abilities:



  • High school degree or equivalent is required. Associate's degree in business, accounting, or related field preferred
  • Prior tax-related experience is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with precise follow-through
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Calm under pressure with a common sense and flexible approach to situations
  • Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods of tax season
  • Professional and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access). Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat DC is a plus
