Graduate Environmental Scientist

Santa Ana, CA

As part of the Worley Graduate Community and under supervision and mentorship within the Liability, Management & Restoration (LM&R) department, you will support and assist Project Managers in all aspects of project execution including coordination, environmental monitoring, water and soil sampling of remediation and decommissioning sites.

This is a full-time position based in a designated Worley office located in Santa Ana CA.

This position is anticipated to start January 2025 or June/July 2025.

Responsibilities:



  • Perform 80% various types of fieldwork including but not limited to surface water/groundwater monitoring and sampling, soil sampling, drilling, test pitting, remedial excavations, and reclamation.
  • Logging, texturing soils and operating various types of environmental related field equipment.
  • Collection of accurate field data using best practices and following standard operating procedures.
  • Support and assist Project Managers in all aspects of project execution including coordination and procurement of project supplies.
  • Preparation and execution of technical reports.
  • Travel throughout southern California sites.
  • Keen safety awareness.
  • Able to perform job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility or outdoor field environment.
  • Walk long distances in uneven terrain and under varying adverse weather conditions.

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:



  • May have Internship experience with environmental science or engineering firm or setting.
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of environmental science or engineering fields.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Willing to self-relocate to the designated Worley office location area.


Education Requirements:



  • Recognized Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Geology from an accredited university or college. One remaining semester is acceptable.


Additional Information:

* This position is in California.

* Salary Range $64,420 to $94,735 USD

* Benefits: eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.
