BOM Coordinator

The Bill of Material (BOM) Coordinator is responsible for assisting with master data input and maintenance in the ERP system for raw materials and finished good products as directed by the IT Manager. This position interacts with Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, and Purchasing.

What You'll Do



  • Understand manufacturing and machine capabilities, product features, and asset throughput to ensure completeness and accuracy of engineering data.
  • Prepare information and enter into the ERP system; this includes calculating raw material usages based on various units of measures and creating planning and template items to follow for custom offerings including audit of work as needed to ensure their accuracy.
  • Review standards for consistency and accuracy as needed.
  • Actively engage in cross-functional communication to ensure timely and accurate product builds as needed.
  • Coordinate with Procurement to ensure that the flow of materials and accuracy of costs are current.
  • Process and log data using the Epicor ERP system.
  • Provide guidance regarding BOMs, purchase orders, invoices, and values in standard formats.
  • Provide information regarding entered data as needed.
  • Track and trace specific orders or job numbers and ensure proper compliance with product revisions, material lists, and specifications.
  • Maintain data configuration.
  • Ensure destination files are complete and timely.
  • Work closely with engineering, marketing, purchasing, and manufacturing on existing and new parts and product development activities.
  • Relay technical communications and feedback from engineers to other functional groups.
  • Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment, and use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Challenge and take action to correct process weaknesses that cause out-the-door product delays.
  • Other duties as required and assigned.


What You'll Bring



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience/strong knowledge of supply chain concepts, MRP systems, and Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Experienced in understanding and utilizing relational databases such as SQL Server
  • Experience in scripting tools such as VBA and Powershell
  • Proficient in using a PC and various software suites, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple duties/projects at one time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess strong organizational and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment and also independently with little supervision
