JOB TITLE: QC Sensory Technician

DEPARTMENT: Quality Control

REPORTS TO: QC Supervisor

EFFECTIVE DATE: December 2024

SUMMARY: Conducts all necessary laboratory analysis prior to product release

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs required sensory analysis.
  • Assists with bench blending which includes project blends, possible inventory bulkings, and inventory reworks.
  • Accurately weighs lab amounts for Production work orders.
  • Performs office functions that include managing laboratory inventory levels and orders laboratory supplies.
  • Manages the QC aspect of the incoming and outgoing samples.
  • Oversees general laboratory housekeeping.
  • Performs data entry of test results (when needed)
  • Operates laboratory equipment (when needed)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportion, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills include; inventory software and word processing software

  • Occasionally required to stand

  • Occasionally required climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
  • Continually required to talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to lift/push light weights (up to 50 pounds)

  • Exposure to fumes
  • The noise level in the work environment usually is moderate
