General Purpose of Job: Responsible for the efficient and effective processing of patients through the clerical and clinical areas of the practice/clinic. Under the general direction of the physician or advanced practice provider, it provides high-quality, compassionate patient care. Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Prepare the patient chart prior to the visit.
- Prepares patient for examination using two patient identifiers. Obtains vital signs, medications, allergies, history, condition-specific questionaries, and chief complaint-accurate documentation of information provided.
- Inspection and Low-Level Disinfection of equipment and environmental safety as required.
- Cleans, inventories, and restocks clinic areas as assigned.
- Assists with removing catheters, trial voids, bladder scans, and other non-invasive procedures as directed.
- Performs non-invasive laboratory and diagnostic testing as directed.
- Maintains all logs and required checks (i.e., refrigerator temperatures, medications, oxygen, etc.)
- Answers, screens, and triages telephone calls. Takes accurate messages and distributes them to the proper personnel within the practice's guidelines.
- Participates in the training of new caregivers.
- Participates in tasks assigned by the Physician, RNs, and Manager related to patient care.
- Ability to provide clerical and clinical services to maintain an effective practice flow. Cross-trained to work both clerically and clinically.
