JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Process Technician Location: Asheboro, NC Reports To: Shift Supervisor Schedule: Night Shift, 12 Hour Rotating Schedule SUMMARY OF ROLE The Process Technician provides technical support for the injection molding process and has responsibility for installing molds, aux equipment, supporting, troubleshooting and optimizing the operation of molding machinery and processes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to the following.
- Responsible for machine start-ups
- First response to all machine and secondary equipment alarms
- Assist toolroom in changing of cavities, slides, or cores, as needed. Analyze and make recommendations for improving tools
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and perform all job responsibilities in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure machines and robots are running at maximum efficiency
- Troubleshoot mold problems
- Responsible for the consistent and accurate completion of paperwork.
- Responsible for mold changing activities
- Responsible for maintaining the appearance of all molds and other equipment
- Report to Shift Supervisor any Issues requiring attention.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each assigned duty satisfactorily.
Knowledge and application of scientific molding principles Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting methodology Prior knowledge of materials, equipment function, processing and machine operation in Injection Molding Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency at reading, interpreting, and utilizing all machine, product and work order documentation along with blueprints
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous Supervisory experience would be beneficial
