Job Description: Amherst College invites applications for the Special Services Generalist position. The Special Services Generalist is a full-time, year-round position, starting at $21.78 per hour - commensurate with experience. Given Amherst's distinction as one of the most diverse liberal arts colleges in the country, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ways in which they bring value to and will work towards supporting a broadly diverse community. The Special Services Generalist supports the efforts of Special Services and Custodial Services to set up special events, move offices and provide general trucking both on-campus and off-campus. This position is the secondary contact person responsible for obtaining detailed information regarding special events and office moves from a diverse set of customers. The person in this position is also responsible for inputting the information into the facility's work order system as well as tracking the materials and hours. Work schedule: The position is designated as providing essential services and may be required to report to work or remain on duty even when the College is closed. In the event of inclement weather or an emergency, support occurs in either providing materials (snow blowers, wet vacuums) or in participating. Our work is central to student life, and their needs occur at a variety of times throughout the day, week, and year. As such, a flexible schedule with extended shift times may be required. This person must be able to work weekends or extended hours to support special events or last-minute requests. The work schedule may vary and corresponds to the College's operational needs, but generally is Monday through Friday, 7 am-3:30 pm. Summary of Responsibilities:
