Maintenance Supervisor

Working closely with manufacturing leadership, the Maintenance Supervisor will perform all daily maintenance and leadership activities related to safety, food Safety, GMP's, quality, and performance. Ensure direct report's compliance with all Westrock Policies and Procedures. Effectively manage direct reports personnel development systems to drive equipment and operational efficiency. Work with minimal supervision.
Job Duties:


  • Provide the necessary leadership to attain the maximum efficiency of equipment, labor, and time.
  • Responsible for the development of mechanics, operators, and co-workers in the areas of safety, food safety, GMP's, equipment knowledge, and overall operations performance
  • Lead and actively participate in shift meetings focusing on general communication, safety, ongoing issues, and work priorities
  • Work closely with other Supervisors, the Production and Maintenance Planner, and Purchasing resources, to attain and maintain a goal of 100% PM/Work Order compliance
  • Communicate with other departments' leadership on initiatives that effect their departments' performance
  • Participate and lead continuous improvement groups, meetings, and discussions.
  • Supervise equipment rebuilds, equipment repairs, and PM tasks to ensure that they are performed thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the proper use of the CMMS verifying that all mechanics documents are correctly completed including details of work performed, time on task, parts used, signature, and quality verification section completed
  • Lead or participate in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventive Action Requests as needed
  • Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner
  • Communicates on technical issues with the maintenance workforce and engineers to both understand problems and collaborate on solutions.
  • Work with other supervisors and resources to ensure adequate maintenance coverage for manufacturing operations
  • Complete daily walks of the plant, observing any abnormal sounds, odors, damage to equipment or facilities, improper people practices or policy violations, and take the proper immediate correct actions. Follow-up on any findings with the appropriate resources
  • Complete one Work Audit per week and turn into Maintenance Manager for review along with any necessary follow up.
  • Through the use of an MSS schedule, ensure the maintenance shop and surrounding areas are kept audit ready at all times and are in compliance with all regulator and quality requirements
  • Communicate equipment issues with production supervisors and operations leadership. Work with Production Supervisors to communicate the priorities for emergency repairs.
  • Monitor mechanic performance on completing PM's and Corrective - Actions Work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • 7 years' experience in the maintenance field including troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulics with industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • 3 years of manufacturing/maintenance leadership.
  • 4 year college degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience utilizing and optimizing CMMS systems to improve maintenance operations and manufacturing performance
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good math and analytical skills.
  • Ability to train, motivate and develop employees.
  • Flexibility to work off shifts, holidays, weekends, occasionally long hours, as deemed necessary
