About the Job

The Hormel Institute Community Outreach and Education team is seeking a skilled Spanish-English Interpreter and Translator for a short-term, temporary position. The role involves supporting the clinical study team in outreach, recruitment, and communication with Spanish-speaking participants. This individual will facilitate clear, culturally-sensitive communication and help bridge language barriers to support the recruitment and engagement of non-English-speaking participants in ongoing studies. As well as helping translate outreach and education materials for the public.

This position is part of The Community Outreach and Education Department. The Community Outreach and Education department consists of three major pillars to help carry out the Institute's mission of improving health and extending lives: education, community outreach, and clinical studies. The COE team engages with individuals through activities and events to educate individuals about operations at The Hormel Institute and within the larger scientific community, and to share resources aimed at improving health and wellbeing.

The Hormel Institute serves as a site for ongoing clinical research studies so that rural Minnesota residents can be included in future healthcare solutions, and we work to create educational opportunities and activities that may inspire our next generation of scientists and help create an environment for all to be a curious place for discoveries.
