Through sound fiscal practices and thoughtful financial planning, the Finance Department is integral to maintaining the City’s stable financial condition and strong economic growth.

Responsibilities of Position

The Account Clerk III performs various clerical finance and accounting duties including review of accounts payable, assisting with the review of payroll reports, preparing journal entries, performing reconciling and account analysis work, and completing special projects related to complex financial issues. We are looking for someone who is organized and detail-oriented and can work independently.  The ability to utilize technology such as automated financial software systems is a necessity.

The starting salary is $27.7688 per hour, plus an excellent fringe benefits package. Applications must be submitted online no later than Sunday, December 22, 2024.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in an accounting or finance-related field. 
  • Finance or accounting-related work experience that includes recording, reconciling, verifying financial transactions, bookkeeping, processing fiscal transactions, or statistical assignments.
  • Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. 
  • Advanced skills using spreadsheet applications.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Accounting certificate.  
  • Experience with complex financial software systems, such as Tyler Munis, Oracle, SAP, Bannor, etc.
  • Experience in reviewing, entering, or processing Accounts Payable.
  • Experience entering or reviewing payroll records.
  •  Experience entering journal entries or performing accounts reconciliations.

Drug screening and criminal background check will be required.
