JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Job Description The Vandegrift lab in the Department of Biology is seeking a part-time academic position to perform research. Duties include, assisting in the completion of a USDA funded effort to better describe the host range and viral diversity of SARS-CoV-2 in non-human mammals. They will be expected to set and check traps, record data for animal handlers, label tubes, autoclave supplies, and eventually/hopefully collect samples themselves. They will also help in the lab by doing dissections, organizing samples and assisting theresearch technician in the completion of tasks. This is a rain or shine (mostly) fieldwork position that requires early mornings, late evenings, and some weekend work. It is a wonderful opportunity to get a taste of disease ecology and epidemiology and will look great on your resume.
