What you'll do:

As the Project Manager for Utilimaster (A Shyft Group Brand) based at our facility in Landisville, PA, you will enjoy managing projects from planning and budgeting through vehicle launch. You will be accountable for delivering all vehicles on-time to the committed dates while ensuring a high-quality vehicle is produced.

Your main focus will be to partner with our Operations team to ensure all vehicles are completed on time with high quality. Your job will revolve around removing any and all roadblocks to keep our operations team from completing vehicles on time. This includes working through issues from Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Sales functions.

In essence, you will be the liaison between operations, manufacturing engineering, electrical and design engineering. You will find yourself in the middle of every problem and resolution, not always the subject matter expert but always driving a solution forward.

You will also:

• Lead phase reviews for each fleet run to ensure programs are launched and executed to meet customer commitment dates
• Identify risks to commitment dates and partner cross functionally to mitigate impacts to delivery
• Become a trusted partner of the Operations, Sales and Engineering team.
• Partner with Quality to ensure Critical Customer Interfaces are understood and executed during production
• Work closely with Sales to inform the customer regularly on the status of the fleet run
• Understand the impact of production and delivery issues to the committed delivery date
• Ensure non-fleet runs are executed and delivered to the customer commitment date
• Address issues through leadership while finding opportunities to return the program to on-time delivery
• Serve as the conduit between the sales and operations function
• Proactively manage changes in scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
• Provide accurate schedules, goals, reports, and other documentation

What you need to be successful:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing or a related field, or 10+ years of operational experience in automotive or a similar regulated industry in lieu of a degree
• Three or more (3+) years of project management experience delivering a product to a customer
• A successful track record of managing projects and delivering upon commitments
• Ability to work within a team as the facilitator to deliver products on-time to commitments
• Capable of taking charge and ownership to move the team towards the end goal,
• A reputation for taking a pragmatic approach toward solving complex problems
• A history of leadership and influencing without positional power
• Manufacturing experience in the automotive or a similar regulated industry
• Versed in communicating effectively across all levels of the organization, from Associate to the VP
• Ability to examine data and trends to understand risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement
• Proven ability to handle many tasks and competing priorities while executing in a fast-paced organization
• Conflict resolution expertise and the ability to understand differing perspectives
