Microsoft Azure Hardware Systems Infrasturcture's (AHSI) Pathfinding team is seeking Research Interns who are passionate about developing next-generation memory systems. With the increasing size of Artificial Intelligence (AI) models, the team is focused on overcoming the memory wall, which is limiting both memory capacity and bandwidth. The team's goal is to identify memory systems that can bring efficiencies to Azure cloud infrastructure and provide significant business value to Microsoft's software applications. To achieve this goal, the team is exploring a range of potential research areas, including emerging technologies like Compute eXpress Link (CXL) memory. Collaboration with other researchers and industry partners is a key aspect of the team's approach. By sharing knowledge and resources, they hope to accelerate progress in this field and develop memory systems that can meet the growing demands of AI workloads. If you are a researcher with a passion for memory systems and a desire to make a significant impact, this could be an exciting opportunity for you to join a dynamic and innovative team at Microsoft.
ResponsibilitiesResearch Interns put inquiry and theory into practice. Alongside fellow doctoral candidates and some of the world's best researchers, Research Interns learn, collaborate, and network for life. Research Interns not only advance their own careers, but they also contribute to exciting research and development strides. During the 12-week internship, Research Interns are paired with mentors and expected to collaborate with other Research Interns and researchers, present findings, and contribute to the vibrant life of the community. Research internships are available in all areas of research, and are offered year-round, though they typically begin in the summer. Additional ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate feasibility of advanced memory systems using CXLPerform workload analysis using these memory systems. |
