JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State's School of Graduate and Professional Studies is accepting applications for an Instructional Designer (Hybrid) to join our online learning design team. This position is hybrid and requires an on-campus presence 1-2 days per week. This position works collaboratively with faculty to design and develop online courses, functions as a lead project manager and uses a range of technology-enhanced systems to develop content for a variety of delivery modes. We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer with a comprehensive understanding of pedagogical principles, instructional systems theory, and the application of both established and emerging educational technologies. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of instructional design best practices to ensure effective teaching and learning across various course delivery modes. Proficiency with Learning Management Systems, particularly Canvas, along with a strong foundation in multimedia development processes, accessibility standards, and copyright requirements, is essential. This role demands the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, overseeing scope, timelines, and deliverables while demonstrating exceptional communication, collaboration, time management, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills. The successful candidate will be adept at using the team's project management system, following established procedures, and contributing to the ongoing improvement and documentation of the team's processes. Additionally, expertise in advanced features of tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, Speechify, and other Web 2.0 tools is required. Education and Experience:
