Position Summary The Merchandise Planner will collaborate with product managers as well as cross-functional business partners to drive financial results in maximizing sales, inventory levels and profitability. Will collaborate with the product mangers to create assortment plans and determine order quantities, leveraging historical data and incorporating merchandise strategies and trends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborate with Pre-Season Planning
  • Develop merchandise plans utilizing history, sales trends and market information to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory levels.
  • Leverage historical data to identify key learnings around product, pricing, and inventory and apply learnings to future seasons
  • Develop forecasts for new SKUs and strategize assortments from a financial perspective
  • Open-to buy and Ladder Plan Management: sales planning bottoms up/tops down, gm%, inventory, turn, and GMROI
  • Involved in monthly business review with VP, Buyer, and planners to discuss current state of the business and make opportunity recommendations
  • Manage Mins across multiple DCs to fulfill 95% service levels
  • Track category WOS by vendor to maintain in stock level across multiple DC
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure proper flow of goods to maximize sales. Build the containers in the right configuration and meet minimum order quantity (MOQ). Make date/DC adjustments for timely flow of inventory throughout the network.
  • Manage and review quick ship program items regularly to ensure we are fulfilling sales demand while managing WOS targets, while understanding suppliers invested costs to the quickship program
  • Responsible for forecasting and communicating monthly forecast to vendors.
  • Maintain product sales ratio by collection by reviewing actualized sales, trend, and floor exposure.
  • Partner with Logistics and DC team to strategize inventory receipts throughout the year, especially during peak seasons when capacity issues arise
  • Develop and maintains weekly/monthly/weekly merchandise reports
  • Analyze and assess the sales performance of product categories; revise in-season plans accordingly to maximize sales and profitability
  • Ensure planning and forecasting accuracy through knowledge of specific geographic store attribute performance through data analysis
  • Develop strong cross-functional partnerships with Merchandising, Store teams, Marketing, Visual and others to drive business results
  • Participate and engage in weekly meetings with cross functional partners to discuss and recap business performance and opportunities
  • Review stocking position and make store count/web recommendations to Buyer to help maintain good stock position
  • Oversee pricing strategies, including promotions and markdowns
  • Key in, revise, and maintain POs
Qualifications

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) or equivalent from four-year college in merchandising or a business-related field. 5+ years of experience in retail merchandise planning. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in MS Office products including Office 365 and Word. Strong proficiency in MS Excel. Experience using Alteryx or Tableau a plus

Certificates and Licenses: No certifications needed

Position Hiring Range

The hiring pay range provides a guide for what we would reasonably pay for the position. Pay will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant's education, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Living Spaces reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Pay is determined by various factors including market demand, applicable skills, work experience and education, location, company budget, and in-demand skill sets.

Compensation: $68,640.00 - $91,620.00

Retail, Guest Services, and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive team bonus based on meeting specific goals and KPI's.
