The Aviation ICT Consultant's role is to provide a wide range of consulting and design services related to information technologies, structured cabling and building security for Aviation & Transportation projects. The position will require actively working on several concurrent projects while ensuring efficiency, accuracy and top-quality work is being delivered to our clients.

This is a Work From Home position and we are open to major markets such as Washington DC, New York/Northern NJ and Chicago.

Key contributor within an Aviation project design team, bringing a future-perspective of technology
• Design customized IT solutions, which may include: Entrance Facilities, Telecomm Rooms, pathways and other infrastructure; wired/wireless and copper/fiber Structured Cabling Systems to support voice/data/video applications; Outside Plant; Distributed Antenna Systems, Data Center technologies and other leading-edge IT solutions
• Design customized Building Security solutions, which may include: video surveillance systems, access control, intrusion detection, emergency telephones and other innovative Security technologies
• Advise our clients on Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design
• Assist with business development activities as requested
• Develop and direct the documentation of high-quality infrastructure construction drawings, details, cost analysis and specifications language; this is often accomplished via AutoCad, Revit or PDF mark-ups with BlueBeam and directing our CAD staff to document the project in Revit
• Collaborate with MEP and architectural team members and guide clients through the technology selection process
• Review submittals and shop drawings, coordinate with architects, contractors, engineers, and consultants
• Perform site walk-throughs to review adherence to standards and procedures
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies products/services, guidelines, standards and their applicability to potential projects
• Ensure that all work is completed on-time, in-budget, and consistently within NV5's high standards of quality

• Five years consulting experience in the design and specification of telecommunications systems, IT spaces, security systems and cable plant projects for Aviation and/or Transportation projects
• Specific design experience with various elements of an airport such as ticketing counters, baggage handling area, gates, lounges, staff amenity spaces and so on
• Intimate knowledge of services, hardware, infrastructure and systems architecture for IT
• CP-TED experience desired but not required
• Excellent attention to detail and outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to meet deadlines and honor commitments

• Maintains a professional and positive attitude in a fast paced and occasionally high-pressure environment
• High level of proficiency in BlueBeam and Microsoft Office
• General proficiency in AutoCad and Revit
• BICSI Certification (active RCDD or test-ready; ITS Installer-1, or ITS Installer-2; additional certifications including OSP, WD); ASIS certification
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field desired; equivalent industry experience will be considered
• PLUSES: PE or additional industry certifications; experience with network electronic systems design, experience in business development for professional services, experience working directly for airlines

The pay range for this Washington DC position is $100,000- $130,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions.
