Job Overview

Plan, organize, and supervise all aspects of Project Management including providing strategic direction on technical reviews, the submittal process, order handling process, coordination of the install and start-up phase, the project load, communication with the factories, and general project life cycle processes for the Life Science business. In addition, responsible for maintaining the monthly/ quarterly roll up of revenue. The position can be located in an office or be remote but must reside in the Eastern Time Zone.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties



  • Provide direction to the Project Operations team on project life cycle activities. This includes the development and maintenance of proper processes for all activities including, but not limited to, quote to order transition, submittals, project tracking, coordination of resources, closeout transition, and project reviews.
  • Maintain coordination with Getinge factories to properly communicate requirements of US customer needs. This includes the communication of unique customer requirements, project tracking and process development on how best work with each manufacturing center.
  • Provide strategic direction to the Sr Director, Project Operations on the tactical development of the Project Operations function in efforts to promote sales growth, create value to sales, while protecting Getinge's revenue objectives.
  • Support Technical Sales Support with executing feasibility analyses for RFP's.
  • Continue training and development of all PMs as part of a comprehensive development plan to support business objectives. Training includes, but is not limited to, technical, obtaining or maintaining certification, compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures, health and safety codes and procedures, customer requirements, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide on-going developmental feedback, evaluating the performance of all personnel, providing counsel, cooperatively seeking opportunities for training and development, and initiating corrective action, if required to PMs as appropriate.
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining project revenue reporting including transactional orders.
  • Regularly track progress on all project plans and provide accurate up-dates to executives as requested.
  • Ensure that Project Operations maintains fiscal responsibility and operates within financial policies set forth by Getinge.
  • Develop and maintain a business climate that establishes, fosters and expands positive and cooperative working relationships with customers and all corporate personnel, and encourages employee participation and initiative.
  • Develop and maintain personal competencies for meeting job responsibilities through effective use of product information and technical data provided by companies within the Getinge family and others. Participate in training seminars, meetings and on-the-job training programs. Demonstrate an understanding and an ability to apply concepts and knowledge obtained from these training and skill development sources.
  • Regularly track Projects and Transactional orders to ensure projects are remaining in scope including, but not limited too, expense and contractual obligations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.



Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years project management experience, with 3 years in the Life Science industry.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a project management leadership role or an advanced project management role, which includes workflow direction and mentorship.
  • People management experience preferred.
  • PMP certification



Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Knowledge of Life Science sterilization, disinfection, isolation, and bioprocessing equipment, including an understanding of lab animal research facility operations, pharmaceutical production process, and general Life Science research.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, piping and instrumentation drawings, electrical schematics, utility demands, and functional specifications.
  • Must have demonstrated experience with Microsoft word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and other related desktop computing competencies.
  • Competency in discussing complete process operation of respective equipment with customers and internal design personnel.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.
  • Familiarity in preparation and review of proposals and bid documents.
  • Participation in industry associations, i.e.; AALAS.
  • P&L familiarity and ability to understand basic financial reports.
  • Proven skill in tactfully resolving situations involving dissatisfied customers and complex negotiations.



Salary range: $110,000- $140,000, depending upon experience and location + 15% bonus target.
