The Client Communications Software Engineering team at Northwestern Mutual is dedicated to delivering an extraordinary experience to our clients. We achieve this by working closely with our business partners and implementing efficient delivery processes. Our goal is to integrate with engineering teams to provide a simplified and consolidated experience for our clients. Our systems lay the foundation for other applications to be delivered across the enterprise. In this role, you will be part of a team that develops client communications using Quadient software. You'll be joining a team that plays a crucial role in ensuring that Northwestern Mutual continues to excel in serving its clients.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates technical leadership to team
  • Establishes, aggregates, and shares team standards and best practices within department
  • Utilizes working relationships across teams within their division
  • Assesses and provides solutions to system-wide architectural problems
  • Conduct training sessions for internal teams on optimized configurations and best practices
  • Ensure comprehensive knowledge transfer to enable the client's team to manage and scale the solution independently
  • Set up monitoring tools and dashboards to continuously track the performance of the Quadient Inspire setup

Qualifications

  • Quadient Inspire Expertise: Proven experience with Quadient Inspire, including advanced configurations and performance optimization
  • Kubernetes: Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Kubernetes (highly preferred)
  • AWS: Proficiency in working with AWS infrastructure and services. (preferred but not required)
  • Scaling Applications: Demonstrated experience in scaling applications and managing large volumes of requests. (preferred but not required)
  • Technical Acumen: Strong technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Documentation and Training: Ability to create clear documentation and conduct effective training sessions
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, ownership mindset and continuous learning
  • Experience developing solutions using agile methods
  • Mentor for the team and department
  • Advanced skillset in one or more technical platforms
  • Capable of communicating between product, engineering, and the business
  • Manages own time to meet objectives
  • Ability to perform peer reviews on code and design
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and architecture
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 4-6+ years professional experience required
  • 4-6+ years of experience working with modern engineering tools, languages and practices

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$100,030.00

Pay Range - End:

$185,770.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
