THE POSITION

Are you eager to take the next step in your IT career? The Conservation and Environment IT Delivery Center is seeking an experienced Applications Developer to join our Data Quality Support Section. If you have experience in the administration, development, and maintenance of complex applications in a highly advanced application environment, we need you on our team!


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Applications Developer 2, you will be responsible for providing technical maintenance, development, and operational support as well as project and process planning for CEDC-IT's highly complex applications within the Data Quality Support Section. Your work will be dedicated to ensuring CEDC-IT's environment is run efficiently, effectively while following enterprise best practices and standards. Your work focuses on improving data quality and auditing for record management of enterprise systems. You will have the opportunity to work with the data quality team to assist with providing data analysis, data integration activities, and reporting to ensure that data is accurate and complete. Work includes but is not limited to:

  • Performing coding
  • Documenting, creating, deploying, and executing data quality specific ETL jobs
  • Establishing process improvements
  • Assisting with building profiles and scripts
  • Communicating with staff in a coaching and mentoring capacity
  • Corresponding with developers and planning points of integration and data sharing
  • Utilizing various query tools (SQL Developer, TOAD, SQL*Plus, SQL Server Management Studio) to develop queries and data extraction routines
  • Researching and developing data architectures as well as designing methods and practices

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You will be required to report in-office at minimum one day per month for team collaboration. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Applications Developer 1 or Computer Programmer 3; or
  • Four years of information technology experience that includes two years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or
  • Two years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • A bachelor's degree in any information technology field.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
