Copywriter - 6 Month Contract

The Copywriter will sit on our in-house marketing communications team, the IDEAL Digital Center of Excellence (DCOE). They will be responsible for bringing the voice and stories of our corporation and its industry-leading brands to life. The position will support IDEAL Industries, Inc. and our three brands: IDEAL Electrical, Anderson Power, and Enatel. The copywriter will first and foremost be a storyteller. They should possess the ability to transition from polished, professional tones to creative and snarky wit - in copy and creative concepts. With responsibility for both short and long form copywriting across social media captions and e-commerce product copy, the copywriter should posses a deep knowledge of SEO strategy for e-commerce listings and be able to easily transition to writing culturally relevant social media content.

Responsibilities:

Social Media Copywriting - Own the voice of our brands' social media channels. Craft engaging captions and copy for creative assets for use across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
• E-commerce Copywriting - Using approved messaging and templates, craft compelling and SEO-driven e-commerce copy for product listings and brand pages on The Home Depot, Amazon, Lowe's, etc.
• Manage e-commerce projects from start to finish
• Work with internal teams to build product, channel, and end-user acumen to ensure outputs reflect the appropriate level of subject matter expertise.
• Edit and proofread all content to ensure accuracy and quality.

• Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions
• Extremely organized and able to keep track of multiple projects using project management software
• Creative, collaborative and team-minded
• Experience working with complex, matrixed and process-oriented teams
• Experience creating and upholding process for their function
• Intrapreneurial, strategic thinker
• Able to work successfully on an independent basis in a remote setting
• Attention to detail and drive for results
• Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

• Four-year college degree in creative writing, marketing, advertising, communications, or related degrees
• 3-5 years copywriting experience
• 2-4 years SEO experience
• 1-2 years B2B copywriting experience
• 1-2 years e-commerce copywriting experience
• 1-2 years experience with visual storytelling (video scripts, infographic creation, etc)
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
• Must have ability to travel within the US or abroad on occasion
