Quality Technician

Kratos Defense and Rocket Support Services is currently seeking a Quality Technician in Glen Burnie, Maryland. This role will support functions associated with quality control and quality assurance operations, including performing receiving inspections of complex parts, generating inspection reports, and maintaining material and product certification records.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare required inspection documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results including deviations from engineering specifications.
• Support Quality Engineering staff in the generation of Nonconformance Reports.
• Utilizes a range of inspection equipment to measure parts including manual CMMs, micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, pin gauges, and inclinometers.
• Performing basic math calculations.

Required Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality inspector or technician role.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain DoD clearance.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings, schematics, and military specifications.
• Working knowledge of desktop applications including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good problem-solving abilities using systematic, logical, and sequential approaches.
• Self-motivation to take the initiative to complete tasks.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to reach common results and goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Quality Management processes in an environment compliant with ISO9001:2015, AS9100D, or AS9102B standards.
• Experience using a FARO manual CMM and the FARO CAM2 software suite.
• Ability to generate inspection plans based on critical dimensions and input from engineers.
• Experience in Quality Assurance within the aerospace or defense industry.
• Working understanding of assembly methods, fixtures, tooling, and fabrication methods.
