About our group:

Have you seen press releases from Seagate about the latest state of the art Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR)? This team contributes to the head and disk design for making large capacity disk drives with this latest technology - Design verification, failure analysis, problem solving, data analysis and hands on lab measurements. Very fast pace environment with many challenging opportunities

About the role - you will:

  • Optimize the head/disk electrical interface.
  • Bench level testing of hard drives
  • Analyze large data sets of hard drive parametrics.
  • Work both independently and with a team.

About you:

  • You are a proficient experimentalist
  • You will have the ability to process and analyze large data sets.
  • You can program in Python or Matlab
  • You have hands on failure analysis skills.
  • You are willing to learn.
  • You are able to work in a self-directed manner.

Your experience includes:

  • You are familiar with magnetic principles
  • You have hands on failure analysis skills.
  • Familiar with Oscilloscopes and lab equipment
  • Some lab equipment experience
  • Programming experience
  • Lab equipment experience such as oscilloscopes, Spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • A Master or Phd degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or related degree are preferred but not required.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $$88,000.00 - $121,000.00. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
