    • Core Engineering and Fuel Engineering Technology

      • Maintain licensed methodologies for multiple nuclear plant types

Your Day-to-Day:

Perform system administration of corporate Engineering Linux platforms, as well as delivery and hardware maintenance of qualified Linux platforms to contracted nuclear utility customers. This includes installation and configuration of the base operating system, participating in the design and deployment of security updates, coordination of customer site delivery and maintenance visits, and ongoing support of Linux systems in the corporate and customer environments. Expectation of working closely with engineering users to deploy applications and resolve issues.





  • Travel to customer sites upto perform technical work



  • Receive training and feedback from experienced mentor, and mentor others



  • Provide troubleshooting for corporate Linux engineering environment



  • Provide remote troubleshooting of customer system issues



  • Design, integrate, modify, and maintain Linux OS releases for internal and external use



  • Perform operating system verification and validation



  • Document performed work in accordance with required engineering procedures



  • Lead or participate in receipt inspection, configuration, and shipment of customer hardware



  • Perform on-site customer hardware deliveries, OS upgrades, security updates and/or preventive maintenance including system installation, integration, and end-user and system administration training



  • Communicate effectively with internal teams including status reporting (e.g., quality, budget, schedule)



  • Developing customer proposals including technical scope descriptions, schedules and cost estimates



  • Maintaining active customer projects in SAP





Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:




  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in one or more of the following disciplines:




    • Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or another related field





  • 5 years of applicable experience



  • Linux Expertise




    • 3-5 years of Linux Administration experience (preferable SUSE)



    • Possess a mindset for independently identifying, analyzing, and efficiently solving variety of system related problems



    • Practical experience with:




      • Networking and Network File Systems (NFS)



      • Disk [RAID] configuration



      • BIOS/UEFI and iLO



      • Multiple user authentication methods and access restriction



      • System patching





    • Linux firewall experience





  • Business travel. Travel to customer sites up to 1-2 times per month to perform technical work



  • Possess a mindset for identifying, analyzing, and efficiently solving variety of system related problems



  • Exhibits a drive for producing work that adheres to quality standards and follows defined processes and procedures



  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint



  • Effective English communications skills, written and oral



  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
