General Dynamics Land Systems' Stryker sustainment organization currently has 6 openings in its upcoming Stryker Field Service Representative (FSR) accreditation course at Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM), WA location. The FSR Academy produces the industry's leading maintenance technical experts for the Stryker Family of Vehicles. Graduates of this 400 hour period of instruction are mechanical experts able to provide advanced troubleshooting and repair techniques to all Stryker variants. FSRs provide direct support to the Warfighters and experience a wide array of unique and challenging positions in both domestic and international settings.

*Tentative start date is set for March 2025.

Graduates of this academy must be prepared to relocate or fill short term TDY assignments as directed in support of the customer, both CONUS and OCONUS. Current requirements include JBLM, WA , Fort Cavazos, TX, South Korea, Fort Liberty, NC, Germany, Poland, and rotational duty in Kuwait (6- or 12-month tours), and or travel where required to support our customer requirements. FSRs will support Flat Bottom Hull, Double-V Hull, DVHA1, NBCRV and SGT STOUT units.

FSR Academy Requirements:
  • Pass multiple technical exam's - a time restricted technical competency assessment with a score of 80% or higher.
  • Completion of High School / GED required, Associate degree preferred or equivalent technical certification.
  • Six (6) to nine (9) years of related work experience. (Equivalent military service acceptable) Stryker vehicle experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding and ability to provide a high-level of customer service under potentially stressful situations and environments.
  • Documented commercial training and/or experience preferred. Military school trained wheel vehicle mechanic (such as US Army MOSs 63B, 63S, 63W or 63B MCM or USMC MOSs 2147, 3521, 3522, 3524) acceptable. Field experience preferred.
  • Read and interpret troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures and flow diagrams for systems, subsystems and components required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to use Microsoft office. Mus be able to use Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain successful NACI background for CAC (Common Access Card); must be able to gain and maintain access to all military installations in which the work is performed.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Depending on final assignment status possible secret clearance will be required.

Upon graduation from the FSR Academy, you will be assigned to an open FSR position.
FSR Position Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the General Dynamics Land System representative assigned to Stryker Brigades and other Stryker-equipped units world-wide.
  • Travel CONUS or OCONUS to support the customer when required.
  • Monitor and maintain configuration management for Stryker variant of vehicles.
  • Conduct hands on training or sustainment training program for General Dynamics Land Systems mechanics and United States Army Mechanics, Operators or Leaders.
  • Oversee and assist with preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) on all Stryker variants to include sub-components and LRUs pertaining to the Stryker Platform.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot and correct malfunctions in automotive systems such as the Full Up PowerPack (engine, transmission, cooling), fuel, exhaust, driveline, suspension and weapon systems using built in test equipment (BITE), test equipment and/or manual troubleshooting procedures (MTPs), common and special tools and applicable technical documentation.
  • Complete maintenance and administrative forms and other paperwork (reports) related to performance of duties.
  • Provide property accountability for all assigned property.
  • Provide assistance and mentorship to welding procedures based on company guidelines.
  • Perform duties as site Field Representative; Environmental, Hazmat, Safety, Fire prevention and administrative functions.
  • Complete status and progress reports as required.
  • Ability to gain and maintain an active Secret Clearance

Physical requirements:
  • Meet and maintain Anthropometric Size Restrictions (ASR) requirements - Measurements used to ensure ingress/egress compatibility for entrants requiring access to military vehicle interiors.
  • Must pass and maintain company deployment requirements dependent on assignment.
  • Work in improved and unimproved maintenance facilities, as well as other field environment and work duty locations as required.
  • Ability to work in confined space within vehicle interior as required.
  • Potential for exposure to temperature extremes in performance of duties.
  • Dexterity in fingers of both hands.
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds (tool box or parts) up to 50 feet.


Compensation and Benefits:
Position Hourly Rate: Local Pierce County SCA Prevailing Wage is $34.10 per hour. While going through the FSR Academy applicants will receive the SCA prevailing wage. Once graduation from the Academy is achieved applicant will transition into a Field Service Representative role with a different compensation structure. .

Position Incentive: Hired applicant may be eligible to receive an annual bonus.

Employees may be eligible for the SCA Health & Welfare Benefit hourly rate, which will vary, based on the employee's choice of benefit elections. The SCA Health & Welfare Benefit hourly rate ranges from $0.00 to $4.57.

Employees are also eligible to receive 6.667 hours of vacation per month, 56 hours of sick time per year and 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
