Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you'll ensure our affordable housing properties remain in full compliance with regulatory requirements while providing valuable guidance and training to site staff. Your expertise will be instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence and adherence to policy.

As a Compliance Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring our properties meet compliance standards by:
- Reviewing and approving move-in, recertification, and interim files within designated timeframes (48 hours for move-ins and 5 business days for others).
- Providing timely feedback and clear communication to site staff on compliance file details.
- Supporting and training site teams to deliver exceptional service to applicants and residents.
- Conducting compliance file audits both on-site and remotely, as needed.
- Preparing and submitting required reports for state agencies, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Staying up to date with HUD, IRS, and state policies, attending annual training, and keeping staff informed of updates.
- Managing compliance with utility allowances, rent increases, and occupancy reporting.
- Assisting in resolving discrepancies in EIV, PIC, and TRACS systems.
- Updating the Compliance Manual and collaborating on action plans for non-compliant properties.
What do I need to qualify to be a Compliance Specialist?
- A high school diploma or equivalent (a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred).
- Five or more years of compliance experience, especially with Section 8, HOME, and Tax Credit programs.
- Tax Credit Specialist (TCS) or Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) designation, or the ability to obtain these certifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); RealPage/OneSite experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) systems (preferred).
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel when needed.
- The ability to work remotely with a dedicated home office space.
