Accounts Receivable Analyst

The Accounts Receivable Analyst is responsible for managing incoming payments for operations of the YMCA of Greater Houston. This position will be responsible for creating, managing, and tracking payment on invoices related to corporate and third-party relationships such as facility rentals and operational contracts.

Essential Functions:


  • Managing invoices and billings - Prepare monthly invoices based on contractual amounts and/or data from our customer relationship management software, Daxko Operations. Match payments received to invoices, apply to customer accounts, and resolve discrepancies. Monitor aged receivables and follow up with customers as needed.
  • Daily/Monthly deposit activity - Process weekly deposits of cash and checks received at the Association (corporate) office. Ensure proper assignment of cash receipts to appropriate staff and assist in coding inquiries and coordination of month end close processes. Monitor and distribute daily cash activity and assist with daily treasury management and reporting to Senior Leadership.
  • Special projects as needed

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts receivable.
  • Highly organized, able to handle multiple tasks with competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of detail.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with others.
  • Interest in improving processes and procedures to increase efficiencies.
  • Basic working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; especially as it relates to revenue recognition.
  • Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions, solve problems and make sound decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with staff of all levels, including Senior Leadership and Operational staff.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and interact with various levels of staff in various departments (operations, facilities, financial development, etc).
  • Minimum Age 21

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

COMPUTER LITERACY

Skills are essential in all of the Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access. Ability to use these programs to lighten work load, develop reports and to automate procedures is very necessary. Ability to diagnose basic PC problems and to communicate those problems is very important.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

TRAVEL

Travel is primarily local between assigned centers during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

HOURS

Flexible with scheduling and availability to work operational hours of the YMCA and sites, which may include day, evenings and weekends.
