Some of the things you will do:

Coordinate all activities of maintenance mechanical team to assure reliable and safe operation of the Charleston facility and at the same time assure continued improvement in the technical competence of each member of the team as well as the team.

Responsible Care:
* Conduct monthly housekeeping inspection of shop areas.
* Assure compliance with all PSM/Mechanical Integrity requirements (Mechanical specific)
* Assure compliance with all Title V requirements (Mechanical specific)
* Participate in Critical Work Procedure reviews and audits, and Hazard Reviews.

Operations:
* Communicate daily with production coordinators to assure proper prioritization of Mechanical teamwork.
* Assure that Mechanical techs understand work priorities as determined above.

Reliability:
* Review work orders using SAP list features to identify repetitive failures.
* Work with engineering to recommend equipment, material of construction, or procedural changes to eliminate the failures noted above.
* Generate and maintain instrument and electrical equipment troubleshooting guides.
Training and Development:
* Maintain personnel records for all Mechanical team members.
* Conduct formal one to one sessions with each member of the Mechanical team, at least semiannually, to assess performance and identify any training needs.
* Work with Maintenance Mgr. to develop necessary training for Mechanical team.
* Participate in Mechanical Apprenticeship committee, taking an active role in development of the program, training of individuals, and assessment of skills, and hiring of technicians.
* Track training requirements of team members (either personally or through Point Person) and assure that all required training is completed in a timely manner.
* Know and understand the proper steps to progressive discipline and implement as necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
* Must possess journeyman level mechanical skills.
* Must possess a positive attitude with good work ethic and exhibit excellent interpersonal skills.
* Must demonstrate strong verbal/written communication, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills.
* Must pass pulmonary and full-face respirator fit testing along with any medical and physical requirements of the position.
* Must also demonstrate good mechanical aptitude.
