About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join us. A Senior Software Engineer on a federal IT contract plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that meet government requirements and comply with federal regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Software Development: Write, test, and maintain code for software applications, ensuring they meet functional and technical specifications.
  • System Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and architect software systems, ensuring alignment with federal standards, security requirements, and user needs.
  • Compliance and Security: Implement software solutions that adhere to federal regulations such as FISMA, HIPAA, and NIST guidelines, ensuring security, data privacy, and accessibility (e.g., Section 508 compliance).
  • Troubleshooting and Bug Fixing: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects, ensuring high system reliability and performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, testers, and project managers, to deliver software projects on time and within scope.
  • Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, code comments, and user manuals, to support ongoing maintenance and future development.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Participate in unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing to ensure that software meets requirements and functions as expected.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies, recommending improvements and adopting best practices to enhance software development processes.
  • Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support for deployed systems, including troubleshooting issues and applying patches or updates as necessary.
  • These responsibilities ensure that software engineers contribute to the successful implementation and operation of IT systems for federal agencies.


Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in software engineering related to front-end and back-end applications and/or data services to include:
  • Experience with full stack engineering (defined as proficient in database development/integration as well as server and client application development/integration)
  • Experience deploying production enterprise applications.
  • Experience in large-scale, high-performance enterprise application deployment and solution architecture on complex heterogeneous environments.
  • Experience with automation and engineering tasks, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) implementation, Low-Code, No-Code, and security engineer tasks.
  • Experience in DevSecOps and cloud environments
