JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Operator -Contingent Conversion

JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibilities of this position require work to be conducted in a medical manufacturing clean room environment. Tasks include learning and performing procedures and associated documentation to assemble, bond, or weld components or subassemblies together in accordance with assembly drawings and written or verbal procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES



  • Performs area clearance and verification of Material Equipment and Documentation (MED's) and executes successive checks on product.
  • Maintains accountability for product and process quality levels and required documentation.
  • Complies with various governmental regulatory agency guidelines i.e. ISO, OSHA, GMPs, etc. on the manufacturing floor.
  • Pro-actively stops production if a quality issue arises and may participate in the resolution process.
  • Participates in all required quality, process, team, and safety training.
  • Alerts leadership personnel of coverage problems within a work cell or production area.
  • Understands the quality needs of a clean room environment, adheres to associated policies adheres to the company's personal hygiene standards, and performs gowning of clean room attire in the allotted time prior to start up.
  • Adheres to strict attendance guidelines.
  • Demonstrates basic understanding of manufacturing operating procedures and quality systems required to assemble, bond, or weld subassemblies or assemblies together.
  • Learns and applies proper use and techniques for pressure gauges, calipers, flow meters, micrometers, and indicator dials.
  • Completes on-going training and demonstrates knowledge of ergonomic principles and how to apply them.
  • Completes on-going training and can communicate knowledge and apply procedures for handling hazardous waste.
  • Ability to build multiple products and assemblies of all sizes under all company and quality guidelines.
  • Responsible for handling, collecting, labeling, and/or transfering hazardous chemical waste following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Responsible for maintaining a certain standard of cleanliness and sanitation per standard operating procedures and associated regulatory documentation.
  • Reponsible for managing and distributing clean room garments.
  • Accurately identifies all materials within the facility and controls their physical location.
  • Performs physical transport, lifting, order pulling or picking, stocking, and receipt and delivery of materials to and from established areas within the cleanroom.
  • Moves materials around the plant by manual physical transport requiring lifting, pushing, and pulling.
  • Performs data entry transactions within the relevant computer systems to ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Assists all areas/departments with material support for ECOs, samples, projects, and/or plant tests.
  • Assists in resolution of problems encountered pertaining to material handling and inventory control.
  • Performs inventory counts and assists in the root cause investigation of discrepancies.
  • Coordinates recycling program including prescribed sorting, and coordination with supplier for returns.
  • Follows all company policies and established operating procedures for the assigned material handing operations.
  • Requires the ability to work overtime to meet business requirements.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience

Previous assembly experience helpful but not required.

Skills




  • Requires effective interpersonal skills and behaviors conducive to a service/team oriented environment including giving and receiving constructive feedback. (e.g., diplomacy, tact, flexibility, positive approach).
  • Demonstrated ability to assemble, test, and package mechanical and electronic subassemblies and packaging electromechanical medical devices using safe handling and assembly techniques.
  • Understanding of mechanical principles and analysis ofmechanical movement
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Reading and comprehending manufacturing procedures written in English including assembly prints and engineering drawings. Able to work from written procedures.
  • Attention to detail forspotting imperfections or flaws in a series of objects.
  • Ability to learn and be familiar with process controls and other quality methods with basic computation skills (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Ability to continue learning and increase competency in use of specialty tools such as digital volt meters (DVM), torque wrenches, etc. Demonstrates high proficiency with the use of required hand-tools and test equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to respond with a sense of urgency and work effectively and productively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to learn and comply with new methods, processes, and policies.

Other Duties and Responsibilities



  • Follows detailed instructions and safety guidelines for filling, emptying, mixing, and handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Safely handle chemicals in coordination with company policy and OSHA requirements.
  • May Initiate training activities in the spares production area to ensure quality processes and products.
  • May processes returned goods from customers and finished goods inventory
  • May investigate non-conformities for re-box and re-label activities.
  • May packages electromechanical medical devices.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Manufacturing Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, and hand/finger dexterity.



  • Must be able to work in a clean room environment, adhere to associated policies, and perform gowning of clean room attire in the allotted time prior to start up.
  • Requires ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and transport up to 700 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and visual acuity including ability to distinguish colors.
  • Must be able to maintain pace with the area assigned.
  • Requires the ability to regularly perform repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to work under florescent lighting.
  • Requires the ability to bond using repetitive moderate force gripping.
  • Requires the ability to sit or stand through the duration of a shift.
  • Ability to work in high places using ladders or lifts.
  • Ability to successfully complete training on biohazards and other regulatory requirements.

Target Pay Range:Starting at $19.50/hr- Hourly pay rateto be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
