We're looking to hire an Engineer or EIT to work in our Natural Resources Practice, specifically our stream restoration group in Raleigh, NC. This position is open to entry level and experienced engineers in the field. This position offers someone the ability to work within the natural resources field and develop skills and the knowledge to design stream restoration projects that will be implemented in North Carolina and throughout the Southeast. This position offers a rewarding blend of a broad suite of experiences including: office, design, fieldwork, construction oversight, data collection, report writing, permitting, and plans preparation. Duties, Responsibilities & Other

    The candidate will be responsible for working on natural resource/environmental restoration projects.
  • The candidate should be comfortable working outside in challenging environments and weather conditions at times.
  • Ideally the candidate would possess working knowledge of ArcGIS, CADD, Microsoft Office Suite, and working knowledge of the Environmental Mitigation Industry in the Southeast.
  • This candidate will be tasked withworking in CADD software to design and develop stream restoration projects.
  • Strong communications skills required (verbal and writing).
  • Position will require occasional overnight travel in state and potentially to other states in the Southeast as necessary.
  • Candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills. Must be a self-motivated dynamic individual.
  • EIT or PE certification preferred.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Appropriate graduate level work is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 - 9 years of professional experience.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.


Performance Expectations

  • Submit for approval and deliver timely annual Employee Performance Appraisals for assigned staff
  • Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
  • Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements
  • Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required
  • Complete other duties as required/assigned
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(75%-80% typical)
  • Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks
  • Chart and provide task performance results
  • Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope
  • Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required
  • Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters
  • Prepare interpractice agreements and/or outside requests as required
  • Provide technical project and staff oversight
  • Serve as task manager on select projects
  • Compare field data to base plan
  • Conduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes and photographs as needed
  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates for review and approval
  • Prepare preliminary concept designs and submit for approval
  • Read and interpret technical documents needed for performance of job
  • Review and approve shop drawings
  • Complete Annual Individual Training Program
