EHS Intern

Position Summary:

The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Intern will provide support for the daily operations of the environmental health and safety functions at the site, while gaining exposure to multiple areas within the field.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Assist with planning and implementing EH&S policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Attend and maintain Safety Training and First Aid training.
• Investigate and implement ideas to improve Environmental Health and Safety Department.
• Coordinate and provide ongoing EH&S training for all employees. Assist with new employee safety orientation.
• Conduct routine safety observation tours; follow-up on open issues.
• Support investigations on work related incidents, injuries, and/or illnesses and determine a root cause to ensure mitigation.
• Participate in the safety committee and help coordinate activities, recommendations, and accountability of identified issues.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Junior or Senior year at an accredited college
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
