Lead Electrician

Position Overview:

Olgoonik is currently seeking an experienced Lead Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical systems installation and will excel in a leadership role. The Lead Electrician will work closely with the Installation Manager to oversee the project, manage tasks, and guide other electricians to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.



Primary Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair security systems in compliance with NEC, Department of State regulations and contract requirements.
  • Utilize expertise in conduit installation, including both electrical metallic tubing (EMT) and rigid pipe (RGS), to facilitate the wiring and integration of security system components.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in conduit bending techniques to accurately measure, cut, and shape conduit according to project specifications and electrical drawings.
  • Utilize power tools and equipment, including drills, saws, and conduit benders, to complete installation tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Operate man lifts and other aerial equipment as needed to access installation locations at varying heights.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and electrical drawings to plan and execute installations accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate closely with the Installation Manager to delegate tasks to other electricians, oversee their work, and offer constructive feedback for successful project completion.
  • Conduct quality checks on electricians' work to ensure compliance with codes and uphold the highest quality standards.
  • Deliver real-time project updates to the Installation Manager, ensuring deadlines are met and the project stays on track.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism while working in US government facilities overseas. Ensure effective communication with team members, clients, and project managers to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and practices to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and the team. Use power tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete installation tasks.



Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical systems installation, with a focus on security systems installation preferred.
  • Possession of a valid journeyman or master electrician license.
  • Proficiency in electrical system installations, conduit installation techniques, and the use of power tools and equipment.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise a team of electricians. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide guidance and support.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor, particularly when working in sensitive government facilities.



Security Clearance:

* Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance and be eligible to obtain a Top-Secret clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain Secret Clearance.



Work Environment:

  • Field-based role requiring 75% travel to overseas government facilities.
  • Requires the ability to complete and maintain yearly medical clearances, with medical screenings conducted in U.S.-based facilities.
  • This role involves working in various weather conditions and performing under extreme hot or cold conditions with exposure to dust or dirt.
