Moog is looking for aSenior Project Engineerto develop electro-mechanical and mechanical components and systems for flight control applications. You will provide technical leadership for advanced development programs that provide flight actuation components and systems on next generation military aircraft. Reporting to an Engineering manager, you will have a 9/80 work schedule with a hybrid work option (3 days/week in the office) in Torrance, CA.

As a Sr. Project Engineer, you will:

  • Be the primary motivator and a contributor to the analysis, conceptual design, development, and testing of complex flight actuation control hardware used on military vehicles and equipment
  • Oversee validation of system or component performance and integration, and coordinate the work of engineers and technicians who support specific assignments
  • Guide the evolution of the conceptual design, and serve as focal point for customer communications
  • Work with Program Management to ensure projects are completed
  • Ensure project success by tracking and reporting on team's progress towards schedule and cost goals
  • Document Lessons Learned, and ensure previous Lessons Learned are incorporated into new projects
  • Communicate fluently to different audiences, both internal and external
  • Prepare and make presentations to customers to support design reviews and technical interface meetings
  • Support programs with some travel (5%) and the participation in presentations to customers
  • Coordinate qualification of new products through a comprehensive development test program
  • Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports

To be considered for the role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 7+ years of professional design/development engineering work experience, 3+ of which should be in the Aerospace industry
  • Experience leading technical teams
  • Experience managing cost, schedule and scope for technical projects
  • This job requires a US security clearance therefore US citizenship is required

It'd be great if you also had:

  • Experience in EVMS fundamentals, project planning, scheduling and resource loading; experience with MS Project
  • The Engineering Bachelor's degree is in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Advanced degree in Engineering
  • Experience in the design, analysis, and development of complex electrohydraulic or electromechanical components
  • Experience in the design, analysis and development of complex systems

Salary Range Transparency:

Torrance, CA $120,000.00-$160,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
