Position Overview:
VHB is seeking a dynamic and client-focused Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead multi-disciplinary transportation projects and play a key role in advancing VHB's business development and client experience strategies. This position combines technical project management expertise with strategic leadership, fostering strong client relationships and driving innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

Project Management:

    Manage multi-disciplinary transportation projects from planning through construction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for select projects and assignments, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Foster strong relationships with transportation
  • Educate and inform VHB staff on client policies, processes, and programs to enhance client satisfaction and project efficiency.
  • Assist with technical proposal development, including tracking projects, prepositioning, and contributing to RFQ and RFP preparation.
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers to develop scopes of service, schedules, and strategic plans for planning, design, and permitting projects.

Client Focus:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client decision-makers, fostering better connections between clients and VHB employees.

  • Gather and act on client feedback to develop tailored, client-focused solutions.

  • Actively participate in external industry organizations and events to promote VHB's presence.

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of VHB's current client projects and future opportunities.

  • Lead strategies to expand VHB's market share, revenue, and service offerings with the client.

  • Collaborate to identify client needs, implement active listening strategies, and anticipate future challenges.

  • Facilitate regular knowledge-sharing meetings, communicate action plans, and provide updates on client activities to internal teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field.
  • Professional licensure (PE, AICP) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in transportation engineering or planning, including project management and client development.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Strong understanding of client policies, processes, and programs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build strong client relationships.
  • Experience with business development and proposal preparation.
