Veterinary Technician I (AN002)
Veterinary Technician II (AN003)
Veterinary Technician III (AN004)
Tasks:

  • Oversees daily receiving schedules, provides assistance and initiates changes as needed.
  • Develops knowledge and responsibility in areas of specialization to include maintenance of special equipment, instructing
    others in use and care, assisting clinician and students in procedures.
  • Anticipates needs of clinicians, staff and students during procedures and in primary animal care.
  • Assists in the instruction of professional veterinary students and training of entry level Veterinary Technicians as
    requested.
  • Assists in the instruction of professional veterinary students and training of entry level Veterinary Technicians as
    requested.

Qualifications:

Requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. independently and physical and manual dexterity to perform specialized technical tasks.

To qualify for Level 1: Entry level, new CVT grad with minimal experience

To qualify for Level 2: Generally over 3 years of veterinary tech experience, may substitute years of experience for specialization.

To qualify for Level 3: Veterinary Tech Specialist (VTS), or highly qualified and specialized in a specific area, may have prior experience from another university hospital.


License/Certification:

Required
CVT - Certified Veterinary Technician

Preferred
VTS - Veterinary Tech Specialist


Work Schedule:

Weekends; start/end times are flexible based on candidate and hospital needs.

Potential for night, weekend, and holiday on-call hours as required by the hospital.


Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 50% - 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $20.00 HOURLY
Depending on Qualifications
Sign-on Bonus of 5% of base pay (based on FTE) to be paid over the first year of employment!

In addition to your competitive base compensation:
- Earn an extra $6.00/hour for weeknight shifts,
- $4.80/hour for weekend day shifts and
- $7.80/hour for weekend night shifts

UWVC also offers a reimbursement for relocation fees for those who qualify!
