NYTech's College of Engineering and Computer Sciences seeks a Programs & Retention Coordinator located at the NYC campus.

The Programs & Retention Coordinator for the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences is responsible for creating, implementing, and managing programs that support student retention, academic success, and engagement within the college. This role involves close collaboration with students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to promote a positive and supportive environment, enabling students to thrive academically and personally throughout their engineering studies. The coordinator will use data-driven approaches to identify retention risks, develop interventions, and enhance program offerings.



Responsibilities

    Student Retention Initiatives:
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student retention and academic success within the College of Engineering.
  • Identify at-risk students using data analysis and coordinate support services to address academic, social, and personal challenges.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with students in need, offering personalized guidance and connecting them with appropriate resources.
  1. Program Development and Coordination:
  • Design and oversee programs that foster student engagement, including orientation, mentorship, tutoring, and skill-building workshops.
  • Coordinate co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to promote a well-rounded student experience.
  • Partner with other departments and offices to develop joint initiatives, such as internships, co-ops, and service-learning opportunities.
  1. Academic Support:
  • Collaborate with faculty to identify areas where students may need additional support and work to create targeted resources.
  • Organize academic workshops, tutoring sessions, and study groups to support engineering coursework.
  • Implement peer mentoring programs to foster collaborative learning and build a supportive community.
  1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Collect, analyze, and report data related to student retention, program effectiveness, and engagement metrics.
  • Use insights to adapt programs and interventions, ensuring continuous improvement in student success initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for college leadership on program outcomes and retention statistics.
  1. Event Planning and Coordination:
  • Plan and execute events aimed at building community within the College of Engineering, including orientation sessions, career fairs, alumni panels, and social gatherings.
  • Coordinate with external speakers, alumni, and industry partners to enhance the quality of events and workshops. Handle logistical arrangements, including venue booking, scheduling, and event promotion.
  1. Collaboration and Partnership Development:
  • Build relationships with academic advisors, student organizations, and university departments to enhance support for engineering students.
  • Work with alumni relations and industry partners to provide mentoring and networking opportunities for students.
  • Foster a collaborative environment with faculty and staff to support retention efforts and enhance student engagement.
  1. Media and Publicity
  • Compile and author content for annual periodicals published by the college.
  • Compile and author content for newsletters and other media outreach.
  • Support the social media outreach by the college.
  1. Other Duties:
  • Stay updated on best practices in student retention and program development in higher education.
  • Participate in college and university committees as needed to advocate for student needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the College of Engineering.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in a related field preferred.

Experience: Experience in student support services, academic advising, or program coordination preferred.

Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to analyze data and develop actionable strategies; event planning and coordination skills; demonstrated commitment to student success.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.



Minimum Salary

USD $45,000.00/Yr.


Maximum Salary

USD $48,000.00/Yr.
