Job Summary:

The Collaborative for Reproductive Equity (CORE) is a research initiative at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. CORE conducts and shares rigorous, policy-relevant research to support reproductive health, equity, and autonomy in Wisconsin and beyond. Our research focuses on access to contraception and abortion. We are hiring a Research Coordinator to develop and maintain systems to ensure the success of CORE's research portfolio, including meeting study aims and timelines. The Research Coordinator will coordinate research activities; develop policies, procedures, and institutional agreements to support research efforts; develop and implement processes and protocols to support research aims; support dissemination of research findings; monitor budgets; and promote CORE's work. The Research Coordinator will work with CORE staff and researchers, University of Wisconsin research support and compliance staff, and external partners to achieve research aims. Additionally, pending skills and capacity, the Research Coordinator may contribute to research design, development, conduct, and dissemination.

Below we summarize the primary responsibilities for the role and other expectations.

Coordinate research activities:
- Coordinate, schedule, and attend meetings with and on behalf of CORE research teams
- Support development and maintenance of internal and external partnerships, including contracts and purchasing agreements.

Develop research policies, procedures, and institutional agreements:
- Develop and coordinate research and programmatic processes for individual CORE studies, as well as across all CORE research
- Coordinate adherence with all regulatory processes as well as documentation for research teams, including all IRB submissions.

Plan, develop, and implement processes and protocols to support research aims:
- Develop and implement tracking systems for CORE research projects
- Ensure projects are progressing in accordance with timelines; support investigators and staff to achieve research aims.

Assist in the development, coordination, and facilitation for internal and external audiences to disseminate research findings:
- Lead literature/evidence reviews
- Draft, edit, and format dissemination products
- Support manuscript submission to peer-reviewed publications
- Identify and pursue opportunities to disseminate CORE's programmatic and research work to internal and external audiences

Monitor research budgets and approve expenditures:
- Develop and coordinate processes to track project team budgets and approve expenditures
- Communicate clearly and routinely with investigators and staff to ensure adherence with budgets.

Promote the accomplishments and developments of scholars and research initiatives:
- Serve as an ambassador for CORE programs and research within and outside the university
- Develop strong relationships with partners and stakeholders within and outside the university
- Develop and maintain understanding of CORE's mission and the aims of CORE research


Responsibilities:
Plans and coordinates the administrative, operational, outreach and promotional activities related to research studies that may be collaborative and independent. Serves as a subject matter expert.

  • 30% Coordinates the daily activities and contracts related to one or more research program(s)
  • 5% Assists in the development, coordination, and facilitation of trainings and workshops for internal and external audiences to disseminate research program developments and information
  • 20% Plans, develops, and implements processes and protocols to support research aims
  • 20% Serves as a unit liaison and subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholder groups, collaborates across disciplines and functional areas, provides program information, and promotes the accomplishments and developments of scholars and research initiatives
  • 5% Monitors program budget(s) and approves unit expenditures
  • 20% Develops policies, procedures, and institutional agreements on behalf of the program

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree in public health, social sciences, health sciences, or a related field.

Preferred
Master's Degree in public health, social sciences, health sciences, or a related field.


Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in research coordination, project management, or a related role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thoughtful, deliberate, organized, and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting (i.e., highly motivated, responsible).
- Commitment to CORE's mission to advance reproductive equity, particularly improving access to abortion and contraception.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in research coordination.
- Experience with IRB processes, regulatory compliance, and/or grant management.
- Demonstrated commitment to relationship building, including an ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with policies and practices affecting reproductive health, rights, and justice, in Wisconsin and/or other US states.
- Proficiency with research tools and/or project management software (e.g., Qualtrics).
- Lived or professional experience working with communities that experience health inequities


Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 80% - 100%

We prefer that the Research Coordinator be on-site in Madison, WI, but may consider a hybrid option with two-to-three days per week on-site meetings in Madison.

Salary:

Minimum $66,449 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
We anticipate a salary range of $66,449 to $80,000, but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
