The opportunity

The Quality Assurance Engineer, reporting to the Director of Web Development, is responsible for the daily overall website testing of SNHU public-facing web properties (SNHU.EDU and Degrees.snhu.edu), and ensuring the quality of these web experiences. You will use test documentation and design, automated testing, and monitoring of goals (KPI) to provide daily/weekly confirmation that the university's web properties are operating as expected and is the first line of defense against website defects.

You will be a hybrid working position requiring occasional working days at our Manchester, NH office. #LI-Hybrid (Must live within a commutable distance to Manchester, NH)

What you'll do:

  • You will review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide meaningful feedback.
  • You will create the design and development of detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and manual/automated test cases.
  • You will design and monitor automation scripts using automation frameworks and tools.
  • You will estimate, prioritize and plan testing activities.
  • You will Perform functional, usability and accessibility testing of website updates and features.
  • You will record, document thoroughly and track defects found during testing cycles.
  • You will perform regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • You will lead and ensure the successful deployment of weekly website updates and new functionality*
  • You will foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and learning within the development and QA team.
  • You will partner with other QA team members in designing QA testing procedures.
  • You will partner with our teams (e.g., developers and product owners) to identify system requirements.
  • You will participate as a development team member in SCRUM process and ceremonies.
  • You will stay at up to date with industry QA trends, tools, strategies, and latest technologies, evaluating their applicability to our projects and long-term goals.
  • You will identify and address technical challenges, employing creative problem-solving to provide solutions.

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience
  • Experience with software quality assurance methodologies and processes.
  • Experience writing detailed, organized test cases, and concise bug reports.
  • System, functional, and performance testing experience
  • Experience writing/debugging automated tests with Selenium, Katalon Enterprise Studio
  • Experience approaching a problem from different angles, analyzing pros and cons of different solutions, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.

Additional Experience In:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • Experience with defect tracking systems and test management tools such as TestRail, Azure Test Plans.
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps services (Boards, Pipelines, Repos, or Test Plans).
  • Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with cloud-based testing (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Appium).
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Experience working with SQL queries.
  • Experience with ADA/WCAG Standards.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Professional certifications in testing or related areas.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $68,669.00 - $109,891.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $75,879.00 - $102,659.00.
