The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Sports and Events Coordinator, for Manchester North Little League in Manchester, NH. The ideal candidate is dynamic and passionate individual who will play a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and executing a wide range of traditional and adaptive sports events and programs. This position requires a strong commitment to inclusivity, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for empowering individuals through sports.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning & Execution: Coordinate adaptive sports events, including some possible logistics, scheduling, equipment, volunteer management, and participant registration.
  • Develop and implement innovative program ideas to expand our offerings and reach a wider audience.
  • Ensure events are accessible and inclusive for participants of all abilities.
  • Collaborate with community partners, sponsors, and volunteers to ensure successful event execution.
  • Program Development: Design and implement adaptive sports programs that cater to diverse needs and abilities. Adapt traditional sports rules and equipment to ensure inclusivity and safety. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer coaches and support staff. Track and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed.
  • Community Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and healthcare providers to promote our programs. Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase awareness and participation. Represent the organization at community events and conferences.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of participant information, program data, and event details. Prepare reports and presentations on program impact and outcomes. Assist with grant writing and fundraising efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
  • Work study part of financial aid package
  • Students with work study may be prioritized
  • Reliable transportation
  • Obtaining a degree in Sports Management, Recreation Therapy, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adaptive sports equipment and modification a huge plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for empowering individuals with disabilities and promoting inclusivity.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekend.

Work Schedule: Flexible hours, up to 20 hours per week

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
