Deposits Domain Architect

The Deposits Domain Architect is a strategic leader responsible for designing and managing the architecture of deposit systems within a financial institution. This role ensures that deposit-related solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives while meeting regulatory and compliance standards. The Deposits Domain Architect collaborates with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems, implement new technologies, and optimize customer experiences. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills to engage stakeholders at all levels. Ideal candidates will exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving abilities along with leadership skills to influence and guide cross-functional teams. This role is ideal for a visionary architect passionate about shaping the future of deposit systems and driving customer and business value through innovative technology solutions.

  • Successful delivery of deposit system projects on time and within budget.
  • Improved system performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements and reduced risk of non-compliance.
  • Positive feedback from internal stakeholders and customers regarding deposit system functionality.


Position Responsibilities:
Strategic Architecture Leadership



  • Develop and maintain the architecture roadmap for deposit systems, aligning with organizational goals.
  • Drive modernization initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend their adoption to enhance deposit-related capabilities.


Solution Design and Development



  • Design end-to-end solutions for deposit products, including savings, checking, CDs, and money market accounts.
  • Architect systems for account origination, management, interest calculation, and reporting.
  • Ensure seamless integration between core banking systems and digital channels such as mobile and online banking.


Compliance and Risk Management



  • Ensure deposit systems comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDIC, AML, KYC).
  • Design architectures with robust data security and privacy measures.
  • Implement fraud detection and prevention mechanisms within deposit solutions.


Stakeholder Collaboration



  • Partner with business leaders to translate deposit product strategies into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with product, operations, and IT teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Engage with external vendors and partners to assess and integrate third-party tools and platforms.


Governance and Standards



  • Establish and enforce architectural principles, standards, and best practices for deposit systems.
  • Conduct architecture reviews to ensure consistency with enterprise goals.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineering teams.


Position Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering or in a Technology related field, OR equivalent through a combination of education and/or technology experience, OR 12 years of technology experience
  • 8 years of architecture experience
  • 8 years of experience leading large, complex/critical technology projects
  • 8 years of experience influencing strategy for large organizations
  • 6 years of experience leading and mentoring others
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Must have indefinite employment authorization.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with 5+ years in a banking or financial services domain focused on deposits
  • Extensive experience in solution architecture and system integration
  • Strong understanding of deposit systems, including account lifecycle management and core banking platforms
  • Knowledge of modern technologies such as cloud computing, microservices, APIs, and data analytics
  • Familiarity with digital banking channels, customer identity management, and authentication technologies
  • Awareness of regulatory frameworks (e.g., AML, KYC, GDPR) and industry standards for deposits

Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
