Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer for our Goleta, CA facility. The Principal Mechanical Engineer will lead design efforts and provide technical direction at the platform and system level. The candidate would be involved with the design, fabrication, and modification of mechanical and/or electromechanical components, sub-systems, and systems. They will also evaluate and recommend design approaches to meet production/customer requirements for new or improved products or services. The candidate must possess the ability to complete a technical project independently; mentor and coach other engineers; and work cross-functionally to coordinate resolution of technical issues and implementation of technical improvements. In addition, the candidate shall demonstrate consistent good judgement and will be able to effectively communicate with engineering and management stakeholders. Finally, the candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment of rapid prototyping and embrace agility and outside the box thinking. Job Responsibilities

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment. The expected pay scale for this position is $116,786.00/year - $181,311.00/year. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly.
